Some Project Previews

I've been sick and it sucks. I've been meaning to do a few entries, one an OOTD but I've spent the last four days knocked off my feet and haven't had a chance to sort through all my piccies (hopefully I'm on the mend enough to be able to get to them soon). Last night though I was able to get some sewing in and after soldiering through my commission work, I could do more on some projects I've had in the works for a while.

This material has been sitting in my fabric box for over a year and I've only just decided what to do with it.

Above is the progress so far.

This is one of two collars nearly done (one for me, one for the Rabbit who went halvies on the base fabrics =3) -I'm currently just waiting for the brown velvet ribbon ties to arrive. It's coming from Singapore, so it'll prolly be a little while longer before I can finish them D:

Ugh, my head is all stuffed up and I think I need to go lay down again before I mess myself up and get sicker. At least I managed to get something done last night though, especially after being off my feet for far too many days u_u;

OOTD - Happy Girl

JSK - Angelic Pretty | Cutsew - Angelic Pretty | Socks - Angelic Pretty | Shoes - Montreal | Bloomers - Metamorphose | Purse - Dream of Lolita (AP replica) | Hair bow - Angelic Pretty | Rings - handmade

Can you sense a theme in today's co'ord? Mostly AP, yep.
The reason?

No lie.

So at around Christmas times, my daughter got some holiday monies to spend on gifties for her friends, me, her dad (pffft), or whatever. She ended up drawing most of her stuff and saving the monies with some huge apologies to me about her lack of gifts coming my way (I told her it was cool, I wasn't concerned or anything. She's my kid and I like getting her stuff, I don't expect it in return). Then, come lucky pack time (recently) I was sifting through the sites like I shouldn't be, lamenting over yet another year that's gone by where I've missed Lucky Pack season (for the last... entire time I've been into lolita I've sworn I'll score a lucky pack from one company or another and every year, something comes up and I miss them. Blah) and guess what Smy chibi does?

She decides that she's spending her monies on a late Christmas gift for me. A lucky Pack Christmas gift ;____; <3

I've gone through this with her before, the entire trying to get her to keep her monies and spend it on things she wants over trying to spend it on me at one point or another and in the end, her argument is always the same; She claims I already get her everything she needs and she'd be happiest when I've gotten something that will make me happy.

(What kind of teenager speaks like this? I swear, I have the best 17 year old on the planet X3)

Anyway, so long story longer, I've learned that any arguments to the contrary are simply futile and it really does make her happy when she sees me happy, so I gave in. She had just enough to get me one of the Happy Girl sets from AP and it arrived today so I figured I'd throw it all on for a quick co'ord =3

Opening pictures are go.

I love that Meta and AP ship most of their things in their pink bags. I wonder if BTSSB does this too...

Inside we have the actual Lucky Pack bag, taped up with red tape (haha), with AP sticker and clothing care instruction card enclosed.

And the contents. The pink jumper, over the knee socks with ribbon print, a teeshirt|cutsew with printing and a matching hair bow.

The jumper is very cute and has some back shirring and a huge back detachable bow. It zips up on the side and is fully lined. The straps are adjustable. Worn as you can see, it's very short. I'm 5'2" and a half and it's pushing my comfort zones like crazy because of how much leg is shown (not very fond of my legs, they are skinny up to the knee and then chunky from the knee above :<) so I had to don a pair of bloomers immediately. Even then, every time I life my arm up, the bloomers can be seen. I'm most likely going to either buy or make a plain white, black or pink drop waist skirt to go under it, just to give me a little length when I wear it and make myself more comfortable. Other than the shortness of the skirt itself though, I absolutely love it. I've been wanting a pink plaid something for a good long while and this definitely fits the bill. I also like the fact that there's a detachable back bow, I didn't expect it and it's a cute added touch.

The socks are adorable. For some reason I was expecting just knee high socks, so getting over the knee was a pleasant surprise. I have a pair of knee high offbrand plain pink and whites, so it's cool to have an OTK brand pair, with the cute addition of the bows that grace each side.

The shirt is very cute too, but also very short (it's making me wonder just how little the intended buyers really are. I'm as said, a short girl myself and I have a short torso, coupled with longer legs (for my proportions anyway) so to put on things from AP that barely go below my natural waistline... it makes me feel like I'm some giant when I'm so very not o_O;;) -the print is also very cute too. Laces and bow cutouts with the AP logo within. The only problem I have with the tee is that it's super see through. As in, I'd definitely have to have a slip beneath it if I were to ever wear it as a top alone and not just have it under a Jumper or Dress. But still, it has cute little puffed sleeves and it's wearable, so I'm happy with it overall.

The last thing included was the hair bow, which is simply that; a matching pink plaid hair bow. I don't have the type of hair to support heavy bows so I don't usually wear head gear much at all. But I think I'll probably end up buying a headband base and taking the clip off the bow since I actually like how it looks with my current cut.

Overall, this set was so worth it and it's completely adorable. With some minor tweaks for comfort, I can see myself getting a lot of use out of it -whether as a complete set, or as different co'ord elements. So thank you chibi, for cereal. As always you do the most amazing things for your mom ;3;<3

New Things

Because of a few select, wonderful friends -and my daughter, my Christmas was pretty damn good. I got some cute things that I've already gotten much use out of. I can't thank them all enough =3

The Rabbit got me this and I've worn this so much already since the holiday. I'm all about the Neapolitan colors right now too, it makes me think of iced cream every morning I put this on.

Speaking of, I did finally manage to get a hold of a pair of knee socks I've been wanting for almost a year now ->

I'm pretty sure I'll end up wearing these with my Milky Chocolate replica. It's what I originally intended for that co'ord last Valentine's Day, let's see if I can manage it this time around.

This antique was another gifty from the Rabbit and I adore it. The tapestry is faded, but still in good condition. I need to do a bit of restoring to the inside since it's worn, but it's really cool. The scenes are different on each side.

It's so pretty, I'm thinking once I get it workable and have restored it, a classic co'ord might work the best. What do you think?

OOTD - Antique Clock

This is what I wore today for Mister's morning walk...

Blouse - Fan + Friend | Skirt - Bodyline | Socks - Bodyline | Pantaloons - Handmade | Petticoat - Fan + Friend | Shoes - Montreal | Rings - Handmade, Etsy | Necklace - Etsy + Handmade | Earrings - Handmade | Cuffs - Silverworks

I've wanted this skirt from Bodyline for a good long while but because of the increase in shipping fees, I could never justify actually spending the monies to buy it until a month or so ago. I needed to get the chibi some new shoes and Bodyline actually had a pair she wanted (green and red panafonic converse, her two favorite colors on her favorite style of shoe. Awesomesauce xD) so I finally caved and decided to get my skirt at the same time. Before they came out with the skirt version, all they had was the dress and so when the time came, I had a hard decision to make. I actually really like the dress and had almost gotten that instead, but full shirring tends to make my already thick waistline and ribcage look even thicker so I didn't want to risk it and stuck with the skirt instead.

I don't regret it at all. The print is super cute and the boning in the high waistband gives the skirt a nice silhouette when worn, plus there's back shirring for some movement and stretch. I really like it. Now all I need is to get a hold of some cute antique style clock accessories. I like my candy jewelry and all, but somehow I think some pretty aged brass or copper will go with this a little better than plastic pink bows xD

Oh, and this is what Mister wore...

Coat and OP - Smoochie Pooch | Collar and tags - Offbrand X3

It was so cold and windy, we both needed double layers just to stay warm D:

OOTD - Lockets of Love

Dress - Plasticland | Tights - Sock Dreams | Shoes - Poetic License (Irregular Choice) | Bolero - Vintage | Rings, Earrings - Handmade | Cuffs - Silverworks | Necklace - Etsy

I was able to snag this dress off Plasticland before it sold out (I snagged the last one on sale just before Christmas. Go me) and I'm so in love with it.

The lace on the sleeves is so delicate and soft. It's a very nice touch.

This is the only picture showing the true color of it (the lighting in this room is weird) and it's the original reason I wanted my newest pair of Irregular Choice shoes above. The site pictures showed them as grey so I thought they'd be the perfect compliment to this dress.

Still, even though the shoes are more olive than grey, they did end up looking rather cute together don't you think?

The only issue I have with the dress itself is that the material is a bit staticy so it clings a little more to my body than I'd like when I move. It's also made of a very lightweight sheerish material and even with tights, I was freezing this morning for Mister's walk... even with a heavy wool coat on.

Note to self; save this dress for the summer, it's better suited for that.

Pretty Chaos

I'm still working on getting my life back together since the move and I'm lacking quite a bit in the way of furniture and things that'll help keep my stuff in place. I know that eventually things will fall into place, that as long as I get a few things at a time here or there, I'll have a livable house again. I just have to be patient... The problem is that I'm not a very patient person and it gets very hard to wait when I have to put things where ever they'll fit. It feels too much like clutter sometimes u_u;;

At least my chaos is pretty chaos, it makes it a little easier to look at while it's stuck in a state of disarray -lol.

New Things

Happy New Year everyone. It's 2012 and you know what that means right? Time for resolutions, time for changes and restarts... definitely time for new things.

I worked the holidays and got myself some overtime, then promptly spent said overtime on a new years sale from Irregular Choice by getting myself a pair of shooses I've wanted for quite a while. They only had one left in my size and at a good percentage off, I couldn't resist. Oh my monies, our relationship was short, but it was a sweet one nonetheless...

The soles have bows >.<

They are a lot more olive than the example piccies led me to believe, but I don't care much because they are still so adorable and despite the higher heel, easy to walk in as well. This will be my third pair of shooses from Irregular Choice [all caught on sale, go me >3] and I can tell it won't be my last. I really adore their shooses, now I just need to come up with a co'ord =0

Something Green

I'm doing a 30 days of photography meme and today's theme was "Something Green"

Mister's frog suit was appropriate, though she didn't appear to be very amused xD

Some artsy arts...

December's Art Challenge : Mistletoe

It wouldn't be tradition if it didn't feature Jenova and Aki >3

And here's just some random progresses on up coming arts to be done. The steps between inking and coloring for a Jun in Wonderland pic...

and more on Tack.

Now all I need to finish these are some 005 inking pens since all four of the ones I had ran out D:

OOTD - Morning Walk Blues

JSK : Angelic Pretty | Blouse : Anna House | Bloomers : Metamorphose | Tights and Socks : Offbrand | Shoes : Bodyline | Jewelry : Handmade and Etsy

This is what Mister wore...

Mister's OP : Smoochie Pooch | Collar and Tags : offbrand xD

Happy New Years to all [of the 2 readers of this journal -haha]! One of my resolutions for 2012 is just a continuance of one I made for 2011; wear more rori.

To start the year out right, I dressed up for Mister's morning walk with an old favorite I haven't worn since Sakura Con; my tartan blue AP JSK. I don't have too many winter dresses, but because of how thick this one is, I can really only wear it on colder days. New Years morning was definitely thicker material weather. It was also the first time out in those Bodyline shoes despite the fact that they've been in my closet for over a year, and surprisingly they were super comfortable, very easy to walk in too. I think eventually I'll have to get a few more pairs in different colors because the double bows and heart buckles make for perfect rori; cute but not over the top.

It's still cold outside in the mornings, so Mister and myself do what we can to keep warm. What about you? Any favorite scarves, hats or coats? Show me what you do to stay warm =3
