OOTD : Neapolitan Stripes

JSK - Handmade | Blouse - Forever 21 | Petticoat - F+F | Bloomers - Metamorphose | Socks - Angelic Pretty | Shoes - Irregular Choice | Jewelry (candy ring and earrings - handmade), Love Cookie ring Strawberry Victoire

I finished this JSK and the pin in time despite having less than a week to actually work on it due to my work schedule (I made it for the February Monthly Challenge in the Sew Loli community... which, while it wasn't meant for that originally as I'd planned on making this for Vday and all, it just happened to work out that way since the theme was stripes or plaids and I'd been too sick on Vday to start it then ^^;). It's completely different than I originally envisioned it to be, but overall I'm pretty happy with it.

The front bows and the cupped cake ribbon pin are detachable. The skirt and bodice are fully lined, it has back shirring and a side zip, plus detachable waist ties.

I finally have my Neapolitan Co'ord and was able to wear my Iced Cream Shooses from Irregular Choice.

They were a bit of an impulse buy because I caught the last pair in my size on sale (seriously, I stalk IC at times for their sales because it's about the only way I'm willing to spend any real cash on occasion shoes xD), but I'm glad I got them, they are a little high and I can see that walking in them for long hours will end up in some foot pains, but for special occasions they are ace.

I adore the Sundae details on the front. It's so very silly, but also so very Irregular Choice (I think they really do just throw random things at the shoes at times and call it a day. They are often ridiculous, yet somehow they always manage to work.)

I also adore how the heels are clear. They remind me of a super sweet version of a Cinderella shoe X3

Neapolitan Stripes and Fawny Fur

Happy Valentine's Day everyone (though by the time I woke up to post this, it's coming a little late. Such is the drawback of being on a graveyard work schedule u_u).

I'd originally planned to have a cute Neapolitan striped co'ord for the day, but because of being sick, I didn't get the JSK I'm making done in time. Ah well, I'll have to save it for another day I suppose. Valentine's Day doesn't have to be confined to just one day out of the year, does it?

Sneaky peak though of the fabric that will soon be made into my JSK, whenever I get around to it ->

Cute isn't it? I can't wait until all the components arrive so I can start working on it (did I say start? I meant finish it up xD)

Speaking of finished things, I did manage to get one project off my list this week as I played the catch up game...

As seen in my last co'ord. So soft and so warm, I'm happy to finally own my very own Fawn print collar.

And yesh Rabbit, yours is done as well ^_~

OOTD : Cat Window

Skirt - DoL (Putomayo Replica) | Blouse - Bodyline | Petticoat - F+F | Bloomers - Handmade | Socks - Secret Shoppe | Shoes - T.U.K | Jewelry - Handmade

Coat - Metamorphose | Collar - Handmade

We had some snow last night and because of it, I couldn't take Mister on her normal walk. So I did a simple co'ord with my cat window replica skirt (I haven't worn it since my birthday =O!) for a pop out into the yard so she could have her morning bathroom break. We both had to dress super warm for it because it was freezing.

Mister didn't exactly know what to do with the snow, it covered all of her normal scents and after a few minutes, she was ready to go right back inside...

I don't blame her, I was too -haha.

Innocent World

Tax time for me has come and gone, and I was lucky enough to have some spending cash after all the bills were paid (and monies were put into savings -whooo). So what did I do with it?

I promptly spent it on a dress u_u (But hey, what's the point of life if you can't have a little bit of fun with your spending money after your responsibilities are taken care of, hmm?)

I've been meaning to add more classical pieces to my wardrobe for a while. I'm not going to phase out the Sweet OOT anytime soon, I just happen to have diverse tastes when it comes to my roritard clothes. Sometimes I like to dress like a Cupped Cake, other times I'd like to be more subtle. It really just depends on my mood.

Anyway, I don't own anything from Innocent World and they are in the middle of a winter sale, so I thought it was the perfect time to acquire a garment from them.

Unlike Metamorphose and Angelic Pretty, Innocent World ships their clothing in an actual mailer envelope. But the bag on the inside is very pretty. It's a deep chocolate brown, imprinted with their name logo and lace trim.

Complete with logo sticker keeping the bag closed. Simplistic, but affective and pretty.

When I opened it up, I found the dress I ordered, along with a hand written note from Mai Sakamoto of Innocent World.

This was such a sweet touch and made it very personal. Meta and AP only send the invoices and while usually there's a scribbled 'thank you' somewhere on the invoice, I've never received an actual thank you note from one of the workers. I wasn't expecting it and it made me smile.

Now onto the dress itself.

I ordered the Chiffon Dot blue JSK, short length. It's exactly what I wanted... light, airy and elegant.

The material is very pretty, it's a semi sheer chiffon like fabric with an imprinted dot pattern that's slightly glossy.

The back is shirred and the ribbon tie is grossgrain.

The strap buttons are delicate and crystalline.

It's such a simple piece but so elegant, and exactly what I was looking for. I definitely plan to order from Innocent World again, everything about my first buying experience has been grand.

A Cute Frivolous Thing

I've wanted to get one of those key chain cameras for a while, but it's never really been on my high priority list until recently. Sifting through the EGL community, I was linked to Chocomint and subsequently spent far too long on one of my sick days, sifting through all the cute things and adding a bunch of frivolous items to my wish list.

Which ultimately led me to this ~>

It's a small pink chocolate keychain camera 83

The cost wasn't any more than it would be for the Clover-San (which was on the possible list when I was deciding to get one) so I thought I'd give it a go. It didn't take too long to arrive, the shopping service for Chocomint is very fast and efficient (will definitely order from them again). Initially I wasn't sure I'd actually be able to use it though, because the install disk (and everything in between) is all 100% completely Japanese, but I plugged it in to find that the compy recognized it immediately, then found an English patch so poof! Instant usable chocolate camera.

The battery is completely internal and while it has the capacity to take and store over 7K in photos, the only problem I've found is that you have to leave it on all the time or it'll erase everything you've done. The downside of that is that I don't know how long the battery is meant to last (because of the fact that all of the instructions are in kanji D:), but the upside I've found, is that it has a 'sleeper mode' and will switch off on its own after about 5 mins or so when left on.

I'm still working out the how-to's on the camera, because the modes are explained in a language I can't read (so I'm trial and error-ing it... a lot -haha) but I like it so far just the same. I'm not sure I can say it's worth the purchase price though, mainly because of the lack of reader card or a way to replace the battery should it die completely. But then again, it isn't exactly meant to be more than a cute and cheap pocket accessory anyway, I'm sure.

As for the picture quality ?

Not too shabby, if you consider the size. Even still, I haven't marked that Clover-san min camera from my list -haha

Of Chocolates and Yummy Things

I'm still feeling under the weather (boo) but I did have to finally venture out the other day to get some shopping done (and some food for my pets -haha) so I sucked it up and went outside. I found a cute store next to my regular pet store, that while ended up being a little pricy, had a pretty sweet looking bakery and all the desserts ended up doing me in...

I was so excited to get this fruit tart, because it was lined with white chocolate =O! Most fruit cups are lined with chocolate so I can't eat them, so it was great to find one that has white.

These little beauties were labeled as "Dessert Sliders" but they are so obviously panafonic Macarons.

Panafonic. Macarons xD

Epic enough on its own to warrant some buying -haha.

The dessert sliders didn't taste like Macarons, but they were a subtle sweet all on their own and I actually liked them. The flower cupped cake was good (it was too much for me though so I split it with my daughter... and scraped off most of the pretty icing flowers) and the petite fours were wonderful. A light lemon flavored cake with lemon icing.

The fruit cup?

It was delicious =3
